Ashley Elliston

Ashley played competitive club volleyball from 1996-2002. In 2002 she was awarded a scholarship to play volleyball at Tyler Junior College. Throughout her 5-A high school career she was awarded team leadership award three years in a row, was the team captain her senior year, and won the Gatorade Will to Win Athlete award her junior year. In 2002 she was a part of the all-district team. In college her intramural team won 2nd overall. Ashley graduated from the University of North Texas in 2006 with a BA in Sociology and a BS in Rehabilitation Studies. She is currently working as an accountant for Team Worldwide. In her free time she enjoys traveling, snow skiing, working with children, attending alumni events with her sorority-Alpha Delta Pi, watching college football, and volunteering for the Ronald McDonald House. Ashley is IMPACT certified.


Michelle Knox

Michelle grew up and played volleyball in Denver, Colorado.  At the start of her volleyball career she played for Front Range Volleyball club.  Michelle attended Colorado State University on full scholarship and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. During her stay at CSU, she helped lead her team to four Sweet 16 NCAA appearances, two MW Conference Championships and made Mountain West All-Conference team her senior year. After college, she went on to play professional volleyball in Salzburg, Austria and continued playing two more years in Spain. She is currently employed by a healthcare staffing company in Dallas.


Lorrie Litwin 

Lorrie is the Director of Hurricanes Volleyball Club.  She is a graduate of Appalachian State University and a native of North Carolina. Upon going to college she received the D.N. Geddie Memorial  Academic  Scholarship.  She’s an accomplished athlete having played collegiate softball and volleyball.  Her love for volleyball began in high school and continued when she attended Appalachian State University and played for the Women’s Varsity Volleyball team .  She continued playing after college and has coached,  attended and helped run many clinics and camps for over 10 years.  In 2008, she was the Head Coach for St. Paul the Apostle.  She has coached 12U, 13U and 14U with the Hurricanes for the past two years with all teams ranking 13th or higher in the North Texas Region.  She is dedicated to building the Hurricanes Volleyball  Club through passing on her passion and knowledge she has for the sport of volleyball.


Taran Turner

Taran Turner, a native of Wichita Falls, Texas, played high school volleyball for 4A Rider High School. In 2002, as a high school senior, she was District 5-4A Hitter of the Year and a third team All-State pick by the Texas Sports Writer Association. She participated in the Red River Volleyball Club for six years. She received a full volleyball scholarship to Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, which is a NCAA DII school that participates in the Lone Star Conference. She started all four years as a Middle Hitter from 2003-2006. Cameron finished second overall in the LSC tournament in 2004 and 2006, which were both hosted by Cameron University. Taran broke and currently holds Cameron’s individual and career hitting percentage records. In 2006 she was an AVCA All-American, AVCA All-Region First team, as well as First-Team All-Lone Star Conference. She was also First Team All-LSC in 2005. In 2003, she was an Honorable Mention. She graduated from Cameron in May, 2007 with a BBA in General Business. She has assisted with various volleyball camps in her hometown during the summers. She is currently employed by Honda Financial Services in Irving, Texas as a bankruptcy collector.

 

 


Krystle Everett


Krystle Everett will continue her coaching career with Hurricane Volleyball Club this year. Previously she coached for Waco Juniors 16 state team. She went to school and played varsity volleyball for Baylor University. She was apart of the Big 12 for two years, she also played for Texas Woman’s University in the Lonestar Conference. At TWU Krystle was named player of the week twice and received Lonestar 2
ndteam all conference. Krystle has also coached camps for TWU, Baylor, and Highland Park. Along with coaching camps, she has been involved with many clinics, and private lessons around the Dallas area. She played high school volleyball at Crandall High School, where she made the Texas All-Star team and received All-State, and All-District honors. She played club for Dallas Summit. She loves to play and coach volleyball because it has been such a huge impact in her life! 

ASSISTANT COACHES


Ashley Bratcher

Ashley began her volleyball career at just 10 years old. She played three years in high school and was moved up to varsity her sophomore year where she was also elected captain. She was honored with the team leadership award 3 consecutive years and recognition in most aces served her senior year. During her senior year she gained experience in coaching a 12 year old competitive team. She began to play club volleyball in 2000 and continued through 2005 when she graduated from high school. She plays competitive intramural volleyball at University of North Texas where she is majoring in Communications and Public Relations with a minor in Spanish. She is involved in her church and in her free time she enjoys playing volleyball, being outdoors, working out, and spending time with friends and family.


Dawn Blagg

Coach Dawn is an experienced player and coach. She began playing in the 8th grade and started by the 10th grade for her 5A Lewisville High School team. Her passion for the sport grew and so did her skill in defense as a Libero. She played club ball for Texas A&M University where she graduated with a BS in Biomedical Science. She also participated in the Chiro Olympics. She has been a coach to players ranging from ages eight to eleven. She sees coaching as a way of building a players inner strength and confidence. Currently she is a Chiropractor in the DFW metroplex. She specializes in sports medicine and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP). Dawn’s hobbies include scuba diving with sharks and other marine life, four wheeling, traveling and exploring other countries, and last but certainly not least; volleyball.


Tiffany Jones

Tiffany has been an all around athlete since the age of 3 when her passion for athletics began with rhythmic gymnastics. Born and raised in Henderson, TX, she brings both player and coaching experience. Tiffany has participated in sports like gymnastics, basketball, select softball, cheerleading, soccer, track, and volleyball. She played volleyball her entire high school career but chose to play a different sport in college. While a volleyball player for her high school team, she played both outside hitter and defensive specialist. She also acted as a youth camp coach for Start Caring Wellness, Inc. where she educated young people about the importance of a healthy diet and active life style. Tiffany also continues judging cheerleading tryouts in the area and conducting cheer camps and tryout clinics. With a passion for sports, she hopes to teach young girls to be competitive athletes and team players, two lessons that they can carry with them far in life. Tiffany graduated for the University of North Texas with her Masters of Arts in Communication Studies and currently teaches at two college campus in the DFW area.
